William Henry Harrison

William Henry Harrison was the 9th President of the United States, serving the shortest term in U.S. presidential history. Born on February 9, 1773, in Charles City County, Virginia, he grew up in a prominent family. His father was Benjamin Harrison, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Harrison’s early career was in the military, where he gained fame for his role in the Indian campaigns, particularly the Battle of Tippecanoe. He later entered politics, serving as a congressional delegate from the Northwest Territory and as governor of the Indiana Territory.

In 1840, Harrison was elected president, but his time in office was brief. He died on April 4, 1841, just a month after his inauguration, likely due to pneumonia. His presidency is often remembered for its abrupt end and for the fact that he was the last U.S. president born before the American Revolution
